Airport immigration capacity receives a R25 million boost

The online publisher The Southern African daily TOURISM UPDATE  reports a high number of foreign visitors in 2016.

Hence, further employment was created for staff at the OR Tambo International Airport as a result thereof.

The South African Department of Home Affairs will increase for the 2017/2018 financial year the number of immigration officials employed at OR Tambo International Airport.

As Africa’s busiest airport, an increased capacity plan for the festive period has become a critical requirement.

In recent months, there have been many complaints about the biometrics capturing systems causing long queues and flight delays in South African airports.
